We will release tension. We will laugh, cry, sing and dance into the night.
We will remember our belonging to the soil, to the winds that blow, to one another, to all of existence.

Unwind at Gharo,
Sindh
family farm in the Indus Delta
Approximately 2 hours outside of Karachi, Unwind at Gharo is a family-run farm, with 300 acres of orchards, fields, and village. It’s known for its raw nature, open skies & vintage feel: we’ll be staying in rooms in an old farmhouse and tents in a palm orchard.

I come from a lineage of migrants, sea-people, home-makers, community leaders, ritualists and truth-seekers devoted to the source of life.
My ancestors came from India, Syria and Iraq, and I have spent my life making meaning and magic out of their wisdom, aches & longings that have landed in my heart. I am constantly drawn to and transmuting themes around home, grief, identity, migration, body, breath, nature, community and spirit.
The language I know most fluently is energy. I am guided by real magic in nature and the unseen realms of sensation and life force. I teach through movement, breath and rhythm and find immense joy in creating experiences that stir & expand hearts; that remind people of the wonder and beauty that is constantly available in Life.
I have served as a student and assistant in embodiment trainings led by teachers across oceans. I am currently training as a priestess in the Rose Priestess Lineage, diving into the energetic cycles on Earth, seasons of life, death and nature, feminine archetypes, ritual, ceremony, rites of passage and the wisdom of the heart + womb.

I am a movement artist, space holder, and listener of the body.
For the past three years I have been receiving energy work. It has been an intimate journey that softened me and deepened my connection to the wisdom of sensation and spirit.
I move from the heart, dancing has always been my home. I’ve trained in it, performed it, and practiced it as a way of returning to myself.
My stillness is rooted into eight years of practicing yoga. This has taught me to move slowly, listen deeply, and stay close to the earth within.
I create across many mediums: dance, imagery, ritual. My joy lives in holding space where people can feel safe, connected, and fully themselves. Everything I create is a reflection of what I feel.
I believe in the divine, in the unseen, and in the soft, wild magic that doesn’t need proof to be real.

What to Expect
a note on farm experienceRooted is about tuning into the wisdom and life force of our bodies and the Earth. This is an experience immersed in nature, on a live, working farm. We’ll spend most of our time outdoors, and most of us will be staying in tents.
You can expect stargazing, candlelit meals, food picked fresh from the land, secluded lush areas for our practices and deep breaths of the sweet Delta breeze.
We will be sharing space with the farm’s other inhabitants: cows, birds, cats, dogs, the farmers and their families who call this place home.

You don’t need to be an experienced camper, but it helps to be comfortable with simple living and spending time outdoors. This is a live working farm, not a conventional hotel retreat, so come prepared to embrace the elements and the rhythms of farm life.
-
There is no air conditioning in the rooms, but solar power is available throughout the day and we will have solar lights in the camps.
-
This is a working farm, so insects are part of the landscape, particularly after rain. However, they are rarely much of an issue in winter. Mosquito nets and repellent are provided, and the guest areas are treated to help keep insects at bay.
-
There is no Wi-Fi, and mobile reception is limited, with 4G available on two Jazz signals. Consider this an opportunity to disconnect from the constant noise of everyday life and reconnect with the world around you.
-
Those staying in tents share communal facilities, including one washroom and one shower.
-
Expect home-cooked Sindhi food, with much of it sourced directly from the farm, including produce from the kitchen garden and orchards, as well as fresh milk.
-
Absolutely. The farm is also a family home, with a family living on-site and your host present throughout your stay. Guest rooms have locks, and you’re welcome to share any needs or concerns ahead of time so arrangements can be made to help you feel comfortable.
